Frequently Asked Questions

How does the calculator estimate savings?
It compares the French price of each service to the price in the cheapest country, converted to euros, then applies your card's exchange fees. Since no single country is cheapest for everything, the optimum is calculated service by service. The result is annualized for subscriptions and left as-is for one-time purchases.
Why deduct exchange fees?
A standard bank card charges 2 to 3% on payments outside the eurozone. On a 10 EUR/month subscription, these fees eat a significant share of the gap: ignoring them overstates the savings.
Does the result account for local taxes?
Yes. The compared prices are the consumer-facing prices in each country, local taxes included.
Can I actually get these prices from France?
Not automatically. Most services require a payment method, and sometimes a billing address, in the relevant country. Declaring a residence that is not yours violates their terms of service: read our guide on legality before taking action.
